Tell us more about the name of your company, how did you choose ORO Impact?

ORO means wealth in Yoruba and means gold in Spanish. In fact, it means wealth, gold or money in about a dozen different languages. Our mission is to help companies unlock wealth through improved retention and to help employees build wealth through an accelerated path to homeownership.

How do you think Framework fits into the space of employer solutions?

We think a lot of companies are eager to support their employees’ financial well-being but aren’t sure how to do that in a way that makes sense for both the companies and their employees. Employer sponsored housing loans are a very high impact way for companies to improve retention and support employees’ financial wellness. Many companies will structure these programs to support first time homeowners. When an employee gets funds for a down payment, we want to help ensure not just that the employee buys a home, but we want to make sure that the employee has a successful homebuying experience. That’s where Framework comes in. Framework offers a best-in-class home buyer education experience to make sure employees are positioned for success in making what will likely be the most important investment of their lives.

How do you think the landscape of homeownership opportunities has changed for employees in the last decade? With our partnership, how can we help?

It’s no secret that owning a home has gotten a lot tougher. More and more folks feel locked out of homeownership. We’ve got millions of Americans who pay rent each month in amounts that could cover a monthly mortgage payment, but they lack the ability to make a meaningful down payment. In some cases, folks can ask their families for help, but for individuals who don’t have intergenerational wealth, there are real barriers.
